I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity.
Edgar Allen Poe

The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all.
- H. L. Mencken

Many people would sooner die than think; In fact, they do so
-Bertrand Russell

What I have been telling you, from alpha to omega, what is the one great thing the sigil taught me — that everything in life is miraculous. For the sigil taught me that it rests within the power of each of us to awaken at will from a dragging nightmare of life made up of unimportant tasks and tedious useless little habits, to see life as it really is, and to rejoice in its exquisite wonderfulness. If the sigil were proved to be the top of a tomato-can, it would not alter that big fact, nor my fixed faith. No Harrowby, the common names we call things by do not matter — except to show how very dull we are ...

Panaroma of the Weekend

OK time to start writing. I had a wonderful weekend; house concerts are the best. Ill have concerts after I move but I wont be able to do what I did today. I was able to have LORi, Steve, Andrew, and Paul stay over and play with me today. First we had a bagels, lox, and cream cheese (I had peanut butter) breakfast while we waited for the oil burner repairman. The service was great. I called around ten and he was all finished by twelve thirty. Then we went out for the day. We went to Flushing Meadow Park to see the Panorama of New York and the Spaceships from Men in Black. I havent been to the panorama in ages. As far as I know it is unique, a scale model of an entire city that includes every building in it. It hasnt been updated in 15 years or so but it is still impressive.

Then we headed into the City I showed them the Battery Park area. The most amazing thing we saw was a wild turkey just walking around the park. I have never seen a wild turkey in my life. What was it doing in the park? I think it must have been a tourist.

Guess where we ate? Where do I take people? Yes thats right, Jeckyll and Hyde. You know me so well.

This really deserves more of a write up but Im tired and how many ways can I say, I had a great time? I love spending time with friends. I love house concerts. I love music. I love giving the Gordon Tour of New York. It was the best weekend ever, they played Fell in Love.
