It was a bad tummy day for me today and it left me feeling weak. As a consequence I did not do my grading. The few tests I graded were awful. It is really amazing how the students seem to refuse to learn radian angle measure. I told them that the calculus formulas don�t work in degrees and that they have to learn radians. It is all we ever used in class. So of course students expressed things in degrees and got the wrong answer.
I made up the calculus 2 test tonight. I�m giving that tomorrow. It is easy, all directly from the homework. I know they won�t do well. Sigh.
I don�t know what could be done. My students enter calculus 2 without knowing calculus 1. Should I just make the tests giveaways like their calculus 1 teacher did so they can pass the test but never actually learn anything? I can�t bring myself to do that.
I was supposed to go down and see Singing Gay Canadian Pirates tomorrow withLORi. I can�t go. That is very sad. It is exactly what I need. Some quality time with a friend, a night away from home, and of course Singing Gay Canadian Pirates.
Of course on Saturday I�m seeing another Canadian Band with Gella . But they aren�t gay, or pirates. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
A week from Friday I�m seeing Don Giovanni with Pete and Maura. I am pretty sure none of the characters are Gay, Canadian, or a Pirate. I do have two dates to hear music with friends so I shouldn�t be complaining. Of course the fact that I shouldn�t complain won�t stop me from complaining.
I should get you up to speed with my health. The hernia has become a minor problem. I only feel it when I get up from lying day. I think today�s stomach problems are caused by what I ate. I just have to be more careful.
Frances said she wanted to write songs with me. I�d write the words and she�s write the music The You Don�t Want To Play With Me Blues. I looked at it again and I actually like it. It�s cute. I then sent her the link to my Poetry Page. My old time readers have read seen them, hell many of them are the subject of a poem. I ended up rereading the �Other Poems.� I have no memory of two of them; Fixing a Hole and Wishes. Most of them while I can�t remember the words I remember writing them and the feelings behind them. My favorite is still Sonata For G Major. These poems might not be good but they are all sincere.
