I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity. Edgar Allen Poe
The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all. - H. L. Mencken Many people would sooner die than think; In fact, they do so -Bertrand Russell What I have been telling you, from alpha to omega, what is the one great thing the sigil taught me — that everything in life is miraculous. For the sigil taught me that it rests within the power of each of us to awaken at will from a dragging nightmare of life made up of unimportant tasks and tedious useless little habits, to see life as it really is, and to rejoice in its exquisite wonderfulness. If the sigil were proved to be the top of a tomato-can, it would not alter that big fact, nor my fixed faith. No Harrowby, the common names we call things by do not matter — except to show how very dull we are ... -James Branch Cabell
2001-06-07 - 11:41 p.m. I'm out of the hospital but I am not a happy camper. I have to be on intravenous antibiotics for two weeks. That means that even though I'm home I still have a needle stuck in my arm and I have to be attached to an IV poll for at least 4 hours a day. In addition to that I have a tube in my abdomen to drain the abscess. Nothing is actually draining but I still need the tube. I thought I would just live my regular life around this but I'm not sure if I can. Carey is coming up the weekend after this one and we are going to go to the Bridgeton and Clearwater Folk Festivals. I'm going to need to be on IV while at the festivals too. Until then I think I'm going to basically stay home. If they remove the drain next week I will feel better. I hope they can do that. I wish I felt up to writing a better entry but I don't. Oh well there is always tomorrow. I signed the Pro-Truth Pledge: please hold me accountable.
