I'm going to my Fantasy Baseball League's all-star game party tonight. I'll probably be too tired to update when I get home. So I'm putting in a special midday edition of Wise Madness.
I went to bring my car in so they could replace the relay this morning. When I got there I was told they got the wrong relay for the second day in a row. Of course they didn't bother calling me and letting me know that I shouldn't bother coming down. I told them to call me when they get it in. When I'm all taken care of I'm going to write a major letter of complaint to the dealer. Maybe they'll give me a free oil change or something. They really should.
When I was young I thought saying "I Love you" was silly. If someone really loved you, you'd know it and the person wouldn't have to say it. Of course I also thought that sperm marched across the bed to fertilize the egg. Kids have strange notions. Saying "I love you" is important. The fact that the person you are saying it too knows it already doesn't make it superfluous. On the contrary it makes it even better. It isn't often but when someone who I know doesn't love me says it I just smile. It doesn't make me feel particularly good. Usually what they really mean is "I like you." When someone who loves you says it, it is the ultimate affirmation. It makes you fell all warm inside.
Some people treat saying, "I love you" like it is a great favor they are bestowing. They will only give it if you prove yourself worthy and then only say it sparingly. As you might guess I don't approve of this attitude. If you truly feel it you should say it often. You lose nothing and make someone else feel good. Everyone should get to hear it said. It is part of every relationship's bill of rights. Have you told anyone you love them today? Even if you have, tell someone now.
