I'm half asleep but I'm going to try and write while on the Bolt Bus back to New York. Lori and Steve got a new network at home. I got the password for my phone but not my computer and Steve was gone by the time found out that I couldn't get t from my phone.
It's been months and months since I've seen LORi and that's too long. So when I saw that Zo� Mulford, Pat Wictor, and Cheryl Prashker were playing at the Lansdowne Folk Club I asked if I could come down. That's our relationship., I can ask to be invited down. She said Yes so I came. The trip down was easy as I updated from the bus myh computer actually worked. Usually if I unplug it and turn it off it won't go back o without a struggle. But then I spent most of the trip down on the phone with Katrina. That's the way of the world.
I had to take the train SEPTA regional train form 30st Street Station to Lansdowne. That was an adventure. You know how bad I say New Jersey Transit is It's brilliant compared to SEPTA. They simply have no idea what they are doing. I went to the information booth and told the woman that I was going to Lansdowne. As I started to look at the schedule I told the woman there that the last time I there I was giving the information for Lansdale. then I looked at the schedule she gave me. It was for Lansdale. I told her I needed Lansdowne. She had no idea what line it was on. I had to go through every schedule till I found it.
then I went to get the ticket. The trai didn't leave for 40 minutes. Nowhere were all the trains listed. I thien found they were listed but not in the waiting room. and they were on little monitors put way hi up and you had to know what line you were on to find anything.
I had time to kill and went t the food court. That made it all worthwhile. I went ot the Cajun place and saw sausages. I asked what they were and was told, "Gator on a stick." I asked what hat was. she said, It's real gator � on a stick. I couldn't resist. I ate alligator meat. I knew my blog title then. Well almost.
Back to Septa problems. The train didn't have the destination on it. "They didn't announce the stops. Some were not accessible form the first car but no one told you that. Mine wasn't and I asked if I had to walk back. I did. Luckily the conductor reached my car just as we got to the station.
LORi picdked me up qnd the rest of the time was me with LORi so that pretty much means nonstop silliness. At one point she asked me if they had down in the back 40 in New York. we decided that was a gay porn euphemism. We think pretty much everything is a euphemism. Having sex is a euphemism for baking a cake. That started with Carey. Oh and you read that euphemis right. the baking cake is literal, the sex, euphemistic.
I made sure to not tell the musicians I as going to the concert so they'd be surprised. Cheryl should never be surprised to see me. I've seen her all over the place with her various bands. Her husband Charles Nolan performed too. He did spoken word, akin to beat poetry with Cheryl giving the beat. The night was Zo� Mulford and friends. so oe did the most. The poster was her holding a banjo so she started with banjo songs but was mainly on the guitar.
It was the first time I've seen Pat solo in ages. He lives in Brooklyn and had to go to PHilly to see him. He does most of his gigs with Brother Sun now. I told him that I see his wife Ellen more than I see him. He said, I see Ellen more than he does. Brother Sun is in demand and on the road a lot.l
After the show we went to get some dinner for me on the way home. we pretty much went via Albany. If you had $50 that says we'd never make it to Albany you'd have won big bucks.
14 years ago two days ago was the big Moxy Fr�vous House Concert at LORi and Steve. We went in search fo pictures from it to scan. Last night we didn�t' find any. This morning we did. I wasn't in any of them. I wasn't really there. LORi said I should photoshop myself into them. Actually none o the people I knew well there were in pics. That's Carey, Shelly, Gella, Jill, or Lawerence. It's a conspiracy I tell you.
LORi and I spent a lot of time making fun of people we haven't made fun of in years. Well OK we have made fun of Jian but we did it more. I mean it's Jian. How can you not
This morning we had our usual huge breakfast at Perkins. Sausage and Gravy Biscuits rock. I had a plate full of fat and I was happy. there ere eggs and hashbrowns with Oh and sausage. Yes two servings of sausage.
We went to Dairy Queen for dessert.
So now I'm on the bus and caught up on the trip. I wrote this very fast. We aren't on 95 yet. I might get to take a nap. Go me.
