I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity.
Edgar Allen Poe

The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all.
- H. L. Mencken

Many people would sooner die than think; In fact, they do so

What I have been telling you, from alpha to omega, what is the one great thing the sigil taught me — that everything in life is miraculous. For the sigil taught me that it rests within the power of each of us to awaken at will from a dragging nightmare of life made up of unimportant tasks and tedious useless little habits, to see life as it really is, and to rejoice in its exquisite wonderfulness. If the sigil were proved to be the top of a tomato-can, it would not alter that big fact, nor my fixed faith. No Harrowby, the common names we call things by do not matter — except to show how very dull we are ...

Four ordinary looking middle-aged men

I have to be good an update now. I probably wont get another chance till Sunday night. I love being right about people. I was sure that the Solomon siblings would have something to add to yesterdays entry.

Tonight I saw Da Vincis Notebook with the New York contingent of the Budgiedome crowd. John, Gella, Lisa, Melissa and Gellas friend Kathleen were all there. We took over the first row and came close to taking over the show. I think all shows should be interactive and we brought that spirit to the Knitting factory. Melissa gave us all Mickey Mouse Stigmata. I brought a towel and told Gella to bring some too. I then showed them how to do towel origami to illustrate the song that dare not speak its name. Gellas was so good that it cracked up the guys. I also brought a pill bottle that I made a counterfeit Rx label for. It was in Bernies name and it said it was Ritalin. It was actually filled with tic tacs. When they did the joke about Bernie not taking his meds I tossed it to him.

In addition to the people in the first row there were a few other people I knew there. Joe who I met at the Arlo show was there with a friend. Deborah was there too and we spent about five minutes figuring out where we knew each other from. We met at the NCC folk festival where she first heard DVN. She knows the Perschkes, Scott and Ken.

Sean Altman joined DVN on stage for Zombie Jamboree. I see him at so many shows even though I never go to see him. I really should.

After the show we got to talk to Richard and Bernie. Richard is boycotting Yahoo for buckling under to China and helping them censor Internet access in China. I agree with him. Im going to have to look for a new home for the Camp Fruvous group. Anyone have any suggestions?

Now I have to prepare for my company this weekend. Ill let you know how it goes Sunday night.
