With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
November 09, 2009 - 12:20 a.m. Lena's asleep and I'm done procrastinating so I guess I should write. This morning I made omelets for breakfast. I make a couple of omelets a week. They almost all come out perfect. This was the first time I made one for someone else. It did not come out perfect. I failed under pressure. I think the problem was that I was making two omelets at the same time, hers and mine.
The zoo is still great. I don't care how old I am. There was so much new I never saw before. In jungle world there are tree kangaroos! They have an aardvark! There's an entire Madagascar exhibit. I saw lemurs! I was like a little kid in a candy store. For the second time I saw the tiger enrichment. They hid chicken in cardboard boxes suspended over the tigers' heads and they had to get at it. Lena loves merry-go-rounds so we road the bug carousel. We didn't see the Congo Gorilla area because they charged a separate admission. Like I said, I'm my parents' child. I didn't see them at it but I heard the lions having sex. Now I can't swear that but the only time I've ever heard the sound I heard was when I saw two lions mating. By the time we got to the lions they were just smoking cigarettes. You do the math. It's November so I planned the zoo being empty. I didn't plan on it being a perfect weather day with the temperature in the mid 60s maybe higher. The zoo was pretty packed. I'll have to go back when it's colder. I didn't bring a camera today I'll bring one then. Anyone want to go to the Zoo on Christmas with me? I think that's a great place for a non-Christian on Christmas. I went a few winters ago. You bundle up and have the zoo to yourself. The cold weather animals, like the Siberian tigers and snow leopards are much more active. After the zoo we went to Bed, Bath & Beyond for a new French press since I broke my old one this morning. I didn't drop it. It snapped taking it off the drying rack. It was very strange. My new one is not as good but it will do. On the way there we stopped at my old house. You'll never recognize it. They have done so much renovation. I hate that they put a fence around the entire property. It feels so anti-social. Lena took a photo. When she gets back home she'll email to me and I'll post it. We were going to see Pat Wictor tonight but we were too tired and spent a relaxing evening at home watching TV. I made dinner. That came out great. I love having someone to cook for. Tomorrow I'm taking the day off and going back to the old hood for lunch with Lena. We're eating at Uncle Jack's. Then she's heading to Penn Station and back home to the Deep South, the DC suburbs of Virginia. I'll be back to living alone.
