With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
-Steven Weinberg
The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. I do not mean that if you are good you will be happy - I mean that if you are happy you will be good.
-Bertrand Russell
Too much sanity may be madness and the maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be.
-Miguel de Cervantes
The only way to find the limits of the possible is by going past them into the impossible.

Take me to Take Me To The River
Yesterday I went to the Take Me To The River Grassroots Music Festivalin Hastings. Think what would happen if my friends said, "Hey kids let's put on a show!" The headliner was John Gorka aka Old John Gorka (you had to be there) who I never talked to before. Most of the rest of the performers are my friends. That's not too surprising as they were booked by my friend Barbara. We travel in the same circles. On the bill were:
Matt Turk
Milton
Kelly Flint
Kelly Flint
Hope Machine
Spuyten Duyvil
The Ya Yas.
I also knew people in the audience, Carter, Su, and Maggi come to mind. I took plenty of photos, here are some of the candids. There was much more going on that the music. I made my own s'mores and was praised on my toasting technique. I looked through a solar telescope that a geology professor brought with him. I did tons of schmoozing. There were all sorts of things for the kids to do. I tried to get shots of the kids.
Bubbles!
Peace Bear sat on the stage
Old John Gorka looking fierce.

Is this poor kid going to grow up to be me?
