With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
December 24, 2006 - 1:32 a.m. Tonight was a unusual evening for me. I went to a concert. OK that isn't unusual. Who I went with is. I went with Aubrey, without his wife Diana, and with Roy and his wife Barbara. These are not my usual music friends. Not only that they don't know each other. Not only that but I can't remember I saw Aubrey without Diana. What brought together this social group? Jewmongous. Jewmongous is Sean Altman's successor to the What I Like About Jew shows that Sean had done with Rob Tannenbaum. I don't know what led to Rob's lack of participation but I know that he put on his own Jewish themed holiday show at Jammin' Java. I'm afraid that Sean and Rob had a falling out. That kind of thing always makes me feel bad. I originally though that the show started at 6 PM so I told Aubrey to be at my house at 4 so we could get there early and get good seats. I then saw that the show was 6:30 but decided to not change the timing. Aubrey was on time and Roy got here shortly afterwards. We drove in Roy's car. When we got there at 5 we found that the show wasn't till 7 and doors not till 6:30. We went with the flow and decided to just have dinner before the show rather than afterwards. Even though this wasn't Christmas Eve we still wanted to keep the Jewish Christmas tradition and eat Chinese food. We walked east towards Chinatown till we found someplace that looked good. I had Peking Duck for the first time in my life it was yummy. Have I mentioned that I love duck? We got back to the Knitting Factory before doors opened and were the first ones on line. Last time I saw the WILAJ with Roy and Barbara we ended up sitting up in the balcony and had trouble seeing. We wanted to avoid that. This time we got my usual front row seats. In addition to Sean the other performers were Cindy Kaplan, Steve Goodie, and people whose name I can't remember. Sorry about that. Cindy is a regular from WILAJ and doesn't he same bit every year and I love it every year. She's just plain funny. Steve Goodie had some good material. Talking about Christmas and Jesus: Did I just offend all my Gentle or is that Gentile Readers? You can hear some of Sean Songs on Sonic Bids. Listen to them, they're fun. I was very happy that Aubrey, Roy and Barbara all enjoyed the show. I always have anxiety sharing my passions with other people. Aubrey has taken an interest in Rubik's cube and wanted me to teach him how to do it. I'm not sure how well I succeeded. I taught him a few of the basic moves. He actually stayed at my house for an hour after we got back so he could learn them. After Aubrey left I ran into the bath. It is the one place that I don't itch. I might have to start sleeping in the tub. LORi had invited me down for Christmas and I declined. Feeling that late is better than never I want to make my Batnose Festivus CD and get my house ready for the house concert. I hope I don't regret the decision. If I get an attack of loneliness I might. I'm seeing her in a few weeks though so I should be able to hold out. OK it is late so I won't write any more. I still have some ideas I want to discuss that I'll save for an uneventful day.
