With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
February 23, 2008 - 2:01 a.m. Twelve hours after I opened word to start writing I'm actually going to begin. My computer doesn't like my copy of Crooked Still's Hop High. It says there is no disc in the CD player. I'm attempting to rip it. When I am done with the four CDS on my desk I'll have gotten all the CDS I can find organized. That means I'll be able to find any one I want almost immediately. The problem is that I can't find a bunch of CDS. The ones I have noticed are my Red Molly CDs, the Jonathan Coulton Thing A Week boxed set, and Paul and Storm's Shame and Cookie Dough. Yay the computer realized the Crooked Still CD is a CD. The database misidentified it thought. It thinks it is the Pixies. I just switched to ripping it with Windows Media Player. It's database is better but it doesn't automatically catalogue the CD the way I like. I prefer to make folders for each artist and each album. I have to do that manually with media player. On the other hand I think it is ripping much faster than my CD burner program. I might end up liking this. I edited the photos from the other night. Here are the ones of Meg Braun. Here's Lipbone. I had a peanut butter omelet today. I am not sure if I reacted to it. I was feeling itchy before I started eating but it seemed to get worse. Of course it might have in any event. It tasted wonderful. I made it absolutely perfect. I should have taken a picture of it. I had a great dinner too. I made one of my good steaks. I never reported on the results of yesterday's culinary adventure. My garlic naan pizza was a success. I took a piece of garlic naan, brushed olive oil on it (the step I always forget) added the pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni and popped it in the toaster oven. It was delicious. I think it is better than a regular crust. Next time I might try using some of my jalapeno pepper jack cheese in addition to the Italian cheese mix. Do you snicker when you read about my pride in my meager cooking skills? My attitude towards my cooking is just like my attitude towards the cards I make on my computer. Sure it doesn't really take much skill but I love injecting that bit of personalization into my creations. I know it might not be much but it is mine. I've been listening to the six volume Anthology of American Folk Music. It is a remarkable project. Harry Smith went across the country collecting music. He'd find obscure records that would have been otherwise lost and add them to his collection. He'd find hillbillies singing a song and record them. He preserved art that would have otherwise been lost. It became one of the most influential albums ever. Even if you've never heard it you've heard songs from it and you've heard songs influenced by it. I don't know most of the music on it from anywhere else but some I know quite well. If your taste is anything like mine I bet you are familiar with some of these tunes.
There are some magic names among the performers on it. Do any of these names mean anything to you? Let me know if they do.
I was going to write something more personal tonight but decided against it. Maybe I'll write that entry another day.
