With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
-Steven Weinberg

The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. I do not mean that if you are good you will be happy - I mean that if you are happy you will be good.
-Bertrand Russell

Too much sanity may be madness and the maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be.
-Miguel de Cervantes

I enjoy paying taxes. With them I buy civilization.

These are a few of my favorite things

I’ve been very busy and not updating. On Tuesday I saw Jump, Little Children and Carbon Leaf with Shannon, Matt, and Katy. Did I spell Katie’s name right?

On Saturday morning I had my fantasy baseball league draft, always one of the best days of the year. I’m pretty happy with my team and more importantly I got to hang out with Marc. From there I went to meet Gella at the Bottom Line to see the Procrastinators April Fool’s Show. It featured Andy Breckman, Modern Man, Eric Schwartz, and Buskin and Bateau. The show rocked, they were all incredibly funny. They all seemed to do songs perfect for the Budgiedome. After the show we went for fries at Pomme Frites; Yummy.

Sunday morning I was at WFUV for the spring fund drive. I got there at seven to eight and was the only one there. I was afraid no one else would show up. I optimistically logged all the phones on and the other volunteers arrived exactly at eight when John Platt’s show starts. I don’t think I have to tell you how much I love FUV.

Then it was on to my first Met game of the year. I got to hang out with Alan and Larry and watch baseball. Always fun. It was freezing but you have to make sacrifices sometimes.

From there I went to pick up Gella to see Dan Bern at the Turning Point in Piermont. We didn’t get lost, a minor miracle. The show was great even though Dan was totally wasted before the show even started. I prefer the sober shows but the drunk shows have their own appeal. I wish the same could be said for the drunk sitting next to Gella.

I got home at one and had to be up at five to volunteer at FUV again. More fun. There were lots of decisions to be made and that always makes supervising more fun. The drive is going great so far. Every show I’ve been there for has met its goal. That hasn’t been the case since 9/11. FUV had to let go of one of the DJs Delphine Blue, and one of my favorite off-air employees Annine. Pledge some money so they can rehire her.

Forget the details. I spent the last four days doing things I love with people I love. What more can anyone ask for? More fun scheduled the rest of the week. I’ll see if I can squeeze some updates in.
