With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
-Steven Weinberg

The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. I do not mean that if you are good you will be happy - I mean that if you are happy you will be good.
-Bertrand Russell

Too much sanity may be madness and the maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be.
-Miguel de Cervantes

The only way to find the limits of the possible is by going past them into the impossible.

EZ-Pass

You know how I enjoy having the Times delivered at my door and reading it on the subway on my way to school? I'm forgetting it. For the third week in a row I didn't get my paper this morning. I called the Times and got credited for the paper but I’m getting fed up.

I forgot to tell you that last time I went shopping I bought a beard trimmer. Is it possible to be more masculine than buying a gadget for my beard? Maintaining a delusion like that depends on ignoring some inconvenient truths, such as the trimmer is by Vidal Sassoon and was found right next to the curling irons. It's far less dangerous for me to maintain a delusion than the president of the United States. Not that I have anyone in mind.

On the practical side my beard is looking much neater. I don't look like Tevye anymore. I'm keeping it more closely cropped.

I love Richard Feynman. Reading The Pleasure of Finding Things Out is pure joy. How is this for putting things in perspective. When he worked on the Manhattan Project he went to the room where they kept all the refined plutonium needed to make the bomb. It was a silvery sphere. It was unique and priceless. During the research in neutron absorption they needed many heavy metals including gold. The doorstop in the room with the plutonium was a hemisphere of gold left over from the experiments. Don't you love that the greatest minds in the world working on the most top secret project in history (yes even more secret than the Stargate) with the fate of the world hanging on their work were still whimsical?

I'm going to my last Met game of the season tonight. I see that I'm not going to finish this before the game. I'll pick this up when I get back.

I'm back. Guess what, the Mets won. Too bad Alan wanted to leave early. When the Mets went ahead 7-1 in the bottom of the eighth I left too. I would have stayed if Alan did or if I didn't have to get up extra early tomorrow because of the WFUV pledge drive. I'm setting my alarm for 6:40.

I've been trying to update my EZ pass account for the last hour. I finally got it done. On the statement is says my account number is 00000000*********** except that there are numbers instead of stars. It wouldn't let me log in to the site. It wouldn't send me a password. What was the problem? My account number doesn't have the 00000000 in it. I guess they just put it in there to make life difficult. Can you think of another reason?

I had a great entry planned but now I have to go to sleep. OK maybe it wasn't great but I did have it planned. There is no way I can write it quickly so I'll just have to wait till I get home from WFUV tomorrow.
