When they burn books, they will, in the end, burn human beings
January 24, 2008 - 10:41 p.m. This is going to be a short entry. It better be I have to wake up in less than six hours. I actually had a pretty productive day. I woke up before my alarm went off which meant I had extra time to catch my train. I used it to have my breakfast sitting in comfort at Duncin' Donuts instead of eating it on the run. I had time when I got to school to print out two handout sheets. One was a correction of the course outline. I really screwed up. I gave the wrong ISBN for the textbook. That is because I got it from another prof's syllabus and they changed to a new edition of the book since then. I don't think anybody bought the wrong one. I did write out the correct edition. After class I called my mechanic and made an appointment to have the oil changed on my car. I went there straight from the train station and they took care of it immediately. The whole thing took only 15 minutes. So now I don't have to worry about that for another three months. I changed the credit card info on my E-Zpass. I forgot to do that when I lost my old card. I'm all paid up and it is once again set up to automatically bill me. I made my main meal during my afternoon break. I had delicious blackened Angus Bubba Burgers. They are really are good. I called Jessica today and made plans for her visit on Thursday. I figured out how I don't have to cancel class, just shorten it. I'm going to drive into the City and pick up Jess then drive to school and park in the lot. She'll amuse herself while I'm in class which I'm shortening so we can make it down to see Richard Thompson's concert. I made plans with Lisa. I'm going up to Boston on Einstein's birthday, March 14, to visit her and see the Strangelings. I wrote Pete and Maura to find out if we can merch. That's a pretty good day for me. So who knows why I'm getting up at 4:15 tomorrow? My regular readers should know that the only thing that will get me about of bed that early is a WFUV fund drive. This is something new, a weekend drive, Friday through Sunday. Nora and I will be there all three days of course. They always give us CDs when we volunteer and there are some that I don't want anymore so I'm going to throw them back in the pool tomorrow and let some other volunteer see if they like them better. With the double commute I'm spending a lot of time listening to my MP3 player. I appreciate Iain Campbell Smith more every time I hear him. He is really one of the greatest songwriters around. Mike Ford is impressing the hell out of me. Who else could write a rock anthem about John A. MacDonald, the first prime minister of Canada. Sir John A!/ You're OK! Now I'll be good and go to bed. Good night my Gentle Readers.
