With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
October 05, 2007 - 12:19 p.m. I had a lot to do in my office today so now I have to rush writing my entry. Let's see if I can remember anything from yesterday. Last night I went to see disappear fear at Mo Pitkin's. The show was at 7 and I got there at 6. I thought doors would be open but when I got there they hadn't even started setting up. I opened the door to the room where the show was and found everyone waiting around for the sound guy to show. I contributed some quarters to the parking meter cause, their van was parked out front and joined them in the wait. After a bit Tucker, another long time fan, and I decided we might as well set the room up and we took the chairs down off the tables. The sound guy didn't show up till 6:30 but he managed to finish the sound check in time. When the doors opened I walked out and paid my money. The woman doing the doors asked how I got in and I told her that I arrived before she did and walked right in. I often end up doing that at Mo's. I pretty much always know the band playing there so it isn't a problem. It is a nice venue. Too bad it is closing. The last show is October 20. When the doors opened Mike from Acoustic Music Scene.com and joined me down front. OK I have to get going. I'll give a real rush version of the rest of the evening. Disappear fear put on a great show. I got hugs from SONiA, Terry, and Laura. I met a cook second grade teacher from Hastings on Hudson. I bought the new df CD Tango. It is in English, Arabic, Hebrew, and Spanish and has the lyrics to all the songs in all four languages. I walked back up to Penn Station with Mike. We stopped for sausages at Mandel's. They were yummy. I'll write more when I get a chance. I took pictures. Read Paul Krugman's column in today's NY Times: Conservatives are Such Jokers It is a devastating attack on the values of ideological conservatives like President Bush and Ronald Reagan. This was prompted by Bush's threatened veto of the bipartisan bill to provide medical coverage for poor children. Bush would rather children die than compromise on his ideology. Read the column, Krugman puts it better than I can. Well actually I can put it pretty well to. The conservatives sacrifice children to Moloch in the name of Mammon.
