With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
-Steven Weinberg

The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. I do not mean that if you are good you will be happy - I mean that if you are happy you will be good.
-Bertrand Russell

Too much sanity may be madness and the maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be.
-Miguel de Cervantes

I enjoy paying taxes. With them I buy civilization.

Close but no cigar

Forgive me readers for I have sinned. OK not really but I didn’t update. Not that I have that much to talk about today. Last night I was so proud of myself for figuring out the cable modem so I wouldn’t miss Angel. I then forgot to turn off the VCR so it didn’t record it. I was able to catch the second half. For now on I’ll remember. Just the way I’ll remember to not leave my hat on the train. Oh yeah, I didn’t do that. Yes once again I lost my Irish hat on the train. I’ll give a couple of more days for it to show up at the lost and found then I’m buying a new one.

I was able to get a little laugh out of my morning class today. Unfortunately it was for making a joke about I’d like to know that there was someone else alive in the room. They are so listless. Maybe I should serve coffee. That would probably be a good idea. When I was in college I had an early class in a building with a bowling alley with a great coffee shop in the basement. I used to stop there before every class for coffee and breakfast and eat it in class. My teacher didn’t mind and it made me a much happier student.

The Knicks played the defending champion Lakers tonight. The Lakers started off really slow and only recently hit .500. I actually predicted a Knick victory. I was wrong but I ended up being much closer than I though. The Knicks came back from a 34 point third quarter deficit and cut it to five with more than a minute to go. They came up short but it was exciting. It would have tied for the biggest comeback in NBA history. I lost the prediction game with Alan, the score is now 12-9 his favor.

I told Gella something I had been thinking about recently. In Früdom she is the popular girl that everyone wants to be friends with. She was surprised as I knew she would be. It is so hard for people to make that sort of mental adjustment. It is true though. Every Frühead I know loves her and would like to see more of her. She has a way of entering people’s consciousness and becoming part of the fabric of their lives.

This is the sort of thing that I usually discuss with Carey. She also has trouble realizing how popular she is. Speaking of my Carey she has an interview tomorrow. Wish her luck. She is absolutely perfect for the position and visa versa. Well as perfect for her as it can be without Hobbits.

Even though this update is late it’s going to be short. I have nothing really coherent to add. I’ll just send some general hugs out to those who need them.
