With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. I do not mean that if you are good you will be happy - I mean that if you are happy you will be good.
Too much sanity may be madness and the maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be.
I enjoy paying taxes. With them I buy civilization.

It is late so I am just going to write a short cheater entry. I had to get reference letters for the coop board. This is the one from
To Whom It May Concern:I have known Gordon Nash since 1989, and have come to know him as a very kind, sweet, funny, sensitive, dependable, and intelligent man. I have also met friends of his who are as smart and as kind as he is.
Gordon is the kind of person you know you could call on a moment's notice if there was an emergency, the kind of neighbor you'd choose to give an extra set of keys to your apartment, just in case. During the last years of her life Gordon took very good care of his mother, a difficult task, but that's who he is. He is also the only bonafide "Jeopardy!" winner that I know -- it's good to have a friend that smart!
I would recommend Gordon for anything -- a job, a reference
