With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. I do not mean that if you are good you will be happy - I mean that if you are happy you will be good.
Too much sanity may be madness and the maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be.
I enjoy paying taxes. With them I buy civilization.

I have been wanting to make copies of the CD of Richard Thompson at FRFF that Jason made for me. I had the brainstorm of using the computers at school today. I made two copies. I just tried them out, they won’t play, Yuck. I have to go to school tomorrow to pick up my check so I’m going to try again. I’ll use a different computer, maybe that burner was no good.
Remember I told the story about the time someone’s phone rang in class and the person answered it. It happened again today. It was the guy who always falls asleep in class. I just told him to leave. I told the class that it better never happen again.
That’s about it for today. I really need to clean my room, Carey is coming tomorrow. I could wait till tomorrow but I do want to stop by school and I’m seeing the Trachtenburgs tomorrow night before I pick her up at the airport. I know I won’t. I’ll do it tomorrow right before I leave. Good thing it is Carey who will love me even if my room isn’t immaculate like it usually is when she visits.
I’m not going to mention any names but don’t you think that a big state like California could find someone to be governor who hasn’t sexually harassed six women?
And again not mentioning any names, I really think that we can find a candidate for the court of appeals who didn’t write a paper on why the laws against blacks marrying whites didn’t go far enough and left the democratic party because the national party wanted his state’s delegation to be integrated.
A Republican was complaining that the democrats were using the story about someone in the Government leaking the name of an undercover CIA operation to punish her husband for exposing a Bush lie, for political purposes. We all know the Republicans have never used a scandal for political purposes. And of course lying about your sex life is far worse than compromising a CIA agent.
I think that’s about it for random rants. I should have a good entry after this weekend’s adventures.
