With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. I do not mean that if you are good you will be happy - I mean that if you are happy you will be good.
Too much sanity may be madness and the maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be.
I enjoy paying taxes. With them I buy civilization.

I really shouldn’t but I’m writing a quick update. I’ve finished grading my calculus final. A miracle occurred. I think I finally got through to them. The median grade was a 72. This followed the third test where the median grade was a 70. Remember this is the same class that had a median grade of 48 on the first test and could only manage a 76 on a take-home test. Yes I made the last test and final easy but this is still a remarkable improvement. After I dressed them down following the second test the best student, she got a 100 on the final, sent me an email.
Thank you for the advice you gave us on Monday. I appreciate it a lot. I agree with you that we should do our homework and keep up with the course. I appreciate the hardwork that you put in, and i understand that you would feel very bad when the class does bad on tests. I am sorry. I'll try my level best to get a good score. Some of us are even trying to get some time to study together. I hope it works.Thanks, again, for that little piece of counseling you gave. We needed it.
I’m always writing about my conflicts with the students so for a change I put in something positive. So did I mention that I really am a good teacher?
Of course I am pretty sure that my tech math class had a big decline instead of an improvement. I saw many unhappy faces in the class. I’m going to grab some dinner then grade that final. My reward for getting everything done tomorrow is seeing the Falcon Ridge Preview Tour at the Outpost in the Burbs with Chris tomorrow night.
Oh yes, the search box is working again. I don’t know why it stopped working. All of a sudden there was missing html. I wrote tech support and they told me how to fix it. So go search for something. You know you want to.
I promise I’ll write a real entry when I’m finished with all my work.
