With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
April 11, 2003 - 11:43 p.m. Wow I’m actually updating two days in a row. I’m back at WFUV, I’ve been here since 6AM. What’s bad is that I didn’t get to sleep till 1:30 last night. Last night I went to the Nassau Community College Folk Festival. I took notes but they are at home so now it’s up to my failing memory. DVN was the big draw for me but there are always other good acts there. First up was the Harlem Blues and Jazz band. They are there every year and rocked like always. The hosts were a couple of former NCC students going by the name of Strike the Bell. The sing sea chanteys and are associated with the Long Island Maritime Museum. The second act was a big disappointment. She sounded like a less talented Natalie Merchant and her writing was uninspired. DVN rocked as always and they even did request-o-rama. Of course they pointed out that they wouldn’t call on me. David Johansen was on next but I had to get up at 5AM so I didn’t stay. I did stay to take care of some business with DVN. I won’t say what it is but I will say that sometimes they aren’t good about answering email and they need the personal touch. Things are crazy at FUV this morning. They had their all-time best hour. The phones are ringing off the hook. I’m finishing this hours after I began. I write a line then have to help a volunteer or answer the phones myself. I better quit now; the phones are heating up again.
