With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
October 01, 2003 - 11:27 a.m. I ended up not going to see The Kennedys yesterday. I stopped at the bank on the way to the show and my bank balance said, “don’t go.” I’m not happy but I have to save my money up for a trip to Chicago next month. I really need to find more tutoring jobs. If you know anyone in NYC who needs a tutor in math, physics, or standardized tests, send them my way. On the bright side I walked down to Penn Station after school yesterday. I hadn’t been doing that even though I should. It was a nice day and got to get exercise and save money at the same time. I used one of my free Whopper coupons at Burger King so dinner was cheap too. I was still not in the best of spirits last night. I have a few chores to do today. I hope I really do them. I have to put up a paper towel holder in my kitchen. I might have to go to the hardware store to get a drill bit. My sister returned my drill but I’m not sure if she returned bits, or if I have one the right size. I have to run to the train station and get an October Monthly. The machine wasn’t working yesterday. It better be working today. I also have to finally make up my grade books on Excel. Julius gave his first test already. I am going to have to give one soon. There was an article in yesterday’s Times on a huge arms depot in Iraq that is unsecured. People can just go up to it and take the weapons they want. The part that I found most interesting is that three weeks ago “senior military officials insisted that all known munitions sites in Iraq had been secured.” Is the truth even a consideration by this administration when making statements? The Republicans crucified Clinton for lying about a personal peccadillo. The Bush administration routinely lies about facts that effect national policy and the lives and safety of people. I know I never follow through on these things but I’m still thinking of making a website that is nothing but a list of Bush administration lies along with the truth of the matter. This arms depot, the phony African/Iraqi uranium connection, and the lies about the air quality downtown after 9/11 are a good start. I want them to be very clear misstatements that can’t be construed as honest mistakes. That is why I didn’t mention Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. What are some good ones that I haven’t mentioned?
