With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
September 28, 2005 - 11:57 p.m. I had a nice cheerful entry last night. Today didn’t go quite as well. When I got back to my office after my first class I had a message on my voice mail. The social worker from the hospital had called. I called her back and she told me that my mother walked 200 feet during physical therapy. That might sound like a good thing but it isn’t. It means my mother isn’t going into rehab. When she gets out of the hospital I am back to being a full-time care giver. I still don’t know when she is coming out. I have to make preparations when she does since I need the home health aide here when I’m not going to be home. My plans for this evening were to see Eric Schwartz at the Cornelia Street Café. He was going to have a band backing him up. I’ve never seen that. To make it even better two of the people in the band are Kevin So and Gene Lewin from Groovelily. They have all played The Budgiedome. As you might have guessed the plans fell through. When I went to shower this morning there was no hot water. When I got home from school I called the company we have a service contract with and told them the burner needed servicing. I said to not come right away as I had to go to the hospital to visit my mother. They said they’d send someone over at 7. The concert was at 10 so I figured no problem. At 9:20 I got a call that they were running late and asking if I still wanted them to come. Of course I did. I stayed home all night and I didn’t want to have to wait again tomorrow. He got here after 10. So that is how I spent my evening, waiting for the oil burner repairman. The one good thing today is that I got to talk to LORi during my break between classes. I needed that.
