When they burn books, they will, in the end, burn human beings
July 17, 2008 - 12:02 p.m. What did I plan on writing today? I had something planned. Who stole it? Was it you? Please give it back. There will be no questions asked. I have to make the The Budgiedome schedule today. Writing this lets me procrastinate. I know I'll start with some cheats. Go read Gail Collins's column in the Times Las Vegas Envy. It tells how gay marriage has become a non-issue in Massachusetts. People got used to it and they now want to get rid of the provision that bars non-resident gays from marrying there. It is good for business. I have the media up from the Upstairs Session show on Wednesday. Here are the photos of Abbie and Anthony, Kelly Flint, and The Kennedys. I love that I have keyboard shortcuts to insert the links to their websites. I want to point out one photo. Want to know what it's like to listen to Abbie and Anthony? That one line evokes the entire film and the book it was based on. Oh I do have to tell you? Well since you admit it I will. It was The Princess Bride. Now the other line is: Is it safe? Less of you will know that one. The film isn't as great or memorable. It was said by Laurence Olivier. Does that help? It is from Marathon Man. Lord Larry says that to Dustin Hoffman when he's torturing him and Dustin doesn't have the faintest idea what he is talking about. There are people in American custody now that feel exactly the same way. I was showing someone old photographs I have up online. It made me feel wistful. Paul Simon said it exactly right. Time it was and what a time it was it was,
