With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
October 23, 2004 - 10:53 a.m. No time for a real update. Today is my mother’s birthday and my sister is here and I really should be social. Last night I went to the Beat Goes On: Salute to the Movies show at the Knitting factory. Phyllis took Lisa to the show for her birthday and I met them there. They wanted to sit up in the balcony why I prefer standing down on the floor. After two minutes I decided I’d rather be up there with them so I went upstairs. When I sat down there were no seats by them but someone offered me his? Who was it? Pete Kennedy. He pulled up a folding seat and I ended up sitting between Phyllis and Maura. Before the show they showed clips of the films they were doing songs from so we had fun seeing how fast we recognized the films and then discussing them. The show was great. Among the performers were Pete & Maura (last night was their tenth anniversary), Annie Golden, Willie Nile, Tom Clark, Mary Lee Kortes, Steve Conti, and Michael Cerveris. Michael sang the title song from Hedwig and the Angry Inch! During the intermission I got to talk to him. I of course told him how much I loved Hedwig and that it weird hearing him sing it not in natural voice. Now I have to run, I’ll update again tonight.
