With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
2001-11-07 - 10:57 p.m. Tonight was my first Knick game of the season. It was great to see Alan but I have to admit the game didn't excite me much. The Knicks aren't very good now. Their best player, Camby, is injured, maybe when he returns they will improve. I hope I can get more into the games as the season progresses. It wasn't even a good night for celebrity watching, there was Spike Lee, Mathew Modene and Magic Johnson. A little addendum to this morning's entry. I was rushed and didn't include things I wanted to say. After the show I took the George Washington Bridge home. I don't know if you are familiar with how it looks. It is an unusual, suspension bridge. The towers instead of being solid are open lattice works. It looks like it was made from a giant erector set. Last night it was lit up. The lights are inside the lattice. It gives the bridge a beautiful eerie look. I know that they were not doing this on a regular basis last I heard. I don't know if last night was a special occasion or if they started doing it every night. If you get the chance make sure to take a look at it. On the way in I missed it because I took the lower level I talked about how I cried when Richard Thompson sang Shenandoah. It made me think about what home is. I always liked the definition: Home is where when you have to go there they have to take you in. Home isn't a place it's people. We all have friends some who are closer than others. There are some though that you know no matter what are always on your side. If the whole world were against you they'd take you in. Being with them is being at home. Thank you for making me feel that way.
