With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
-Steven Weinberg

The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. I do not mean that if you are good you will be happy - I mean that if you are happy you will be good.
-Bertrand Russell

Too much sanity may be madness and the maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be.
-Miguel de Cervantes

I enjoy paying taxes. With them I buy civilization.

Look to the cookie

For the first time this semester I’m updating from my office. I can see you just shiver with anticip………………………………………………………[say it]……………………………………………………………………………………………..ation.

Someone in the DC area found my diary by searching for Budgiedome and read 23 pages. Do I know you? I’m sure I’ve met you if you know The Budgiedome.

I had a fight with Alison yesterday, that isn’t good. Our nerves are getting frazzled.

After she left my cousin’s Leslie and Barbara came over for a visit. That was nice, especially as they brought me chocolate babka and black and white cookies. They went through what I’m going through with their mother so they know what it is like. They also know that one sure way to make me happy is chocolate, especially babka.

I set up the printer that Sue gave me this week. It needed a new color ink cartridge which I picked up this weekend. Sue had given me a couple of cartridges but they were both too low on ink. The new cartridge came with an envelope to mail the old one back to Staples for recycling. I ended up mailing back three in the one envelope. The instructions were to put the old cartridge in the box from the new one and put it in the envelope. One problem, the box won’t fit in the envelope. You’d think that somebody would have checked that.

Last night I did my first project with the new printer, a card, and mailed it out. That kind of thing always makes me happy. I like doing things for my friends.

On Saturday night I planned on writing a really nice entry about the interconnectedness of the universe. Then this morning I was planning a really negative entry. Now I think I’ll forego them both.

The new home health aide came today. Her name is Claudia and she is supposed to be permanent. We’ll have to see how she works out. She was a bit late but still got to my house before the cab came to pick me up. I gave her a quick run down on what to do before I left. She seemed nice. If she can get my mother into the shower I’ll be happy.
