With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
April 14, 2004 - 2:28 p.m. Anyone have a gun? Just put me out of misery now. I was all psyched, I was going to see Slaid Cleaves twice today. First and an inshore a block from school, before class, then tonight at Joe's Pub. I left early enough to be able to go up to my office and drop off my briefcase before I went to see him. When the conductor on the train asked for my ticket I realized I left my wallet at home. She was cool about it and said, "Show it to me tomorrow." The problem was that my ticket to the show was in my wallet too so I had to go home. I got off the first stop to take the next train back. As soon as I did I realized that I left my briefcase on the train. Not only did it have all my notes, the test I'm giving today, and my calculator in it, it also had my tax returns. I went home got my wallet and took the next train in. I got to see the second half of Slaid's set, which remarkably made me, feel better. I didn't think that was going to be possible. When Slaid asked me how I was I told him the story, maybe he'll right a song about it. When I got to my office I called the LIRR and told them what happened. They are having a power outage at the lost and found so they aren't working under the best of conditions. They said they'd call me if they found it. I guess I'll have to do my taxes again tomorrow. I am a bundle of nerves right now waiting to explode.
