With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
September 03, 2006 - 12:40 a.m. The good thing about hitting bottom is that you have no place to go but up. Now that I let myself wallow for a few days it is time to start fighting back. I actually believe all that stuff I write about finding the good in your life. I really have learned the lesson of the sigil but there are times you just have to say, “this sucks!” and go with that feeling. So how did I fight back today? I went out to dinner. That might not have been wise considering the state of my stomach but I decided pampering my psyche was more important than pampering my digestive system. That decision seems to have been a good one. I’m not feeling sick and I really enjoyed eating at the Ground Round. My service wasn’t good but when I complained about it I got a coupon good for 25% off the next time I eat there. I’m going to try and go out and eat a nice place at least once a week. Yes the Ground Round is a nice place, no snickering. The weather is miserable and I had nothing planned to do so I stayed home tonight. I was rewarded by being able to talk to LORi. So now I have a stomach filled with good food and a head filled with good conversation. My mother still isn’t doing well and I had to play tough guy with her. She wouldn’t even hold the cup of water with lemon and sugar in it that I prepared. I told her that she had to, that I wouldn’t hold it for her. She has to do things for herself or she’ll never improve. Alison is going to visit my mother tomorrow so I’m taking the day off. I’m going to go into the City, the weather is supposed to clear up. I still have nothing planned. If nothing else I’ll go to Ray’s Pizza. Joe’s the pizza place in my neighborhood that was here longer than I’ve been alive, just closed. The competition has waitress service at the tables. What kind of pizzeria is that? When I was a kid we said the hallmarks of a good pizzeria was that everyone that worked there had a heavy Italian accent ithad a jukebox and it looked like a dive. It is hard to find that nowadays. Guess what the Mets did today? They won! They do that a lot. I am not used to rooting for the best team in baseball. Their best player, Beltran, got hurt making a great catch in the ninth inning. I don’t know if he’s OK. If he isn’t then the Mets might have some problems. Thanks to all of you that sent me hugs and other support. How about some song lyrics to end this entry? This is by Eric Idle: Some things in life are bad,
