With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
July 18, 2003 - 11:14 a.m. Alan took me out for dinner for my birthday last night. The invitation came out of the blue right after I signed offline yesterday morning. We went to Aunt Bella’s, my favorite local Italian restaurant. I used to go there all the time with Aubrey before he was married. Now I just go there sometimes for lunch with Roy so they don’t know me any more. They do know Alan though. It’s a family owned business and one of the family, who moonlights there, works with Alan. It’s always nice having personal service. I had my Italian restaurant favorite, chicken Franscese (sp?). I love that Italian dish translates to “French Chicken.” Whatever the name it was yummy. For those of you who haven’t gotten me presents yet my birthday is on Saturday. Do I need to write that in large type? This looks like it is going to be a good birthday. I’m going to see Madelaine Peyroux with Lisa Saturday night. My mother is going to take me out to lunch. I’m sure Lauren will call me, she always does. It shouldn’t make a difference but I feel bad spending my birthday alone. A number of my friends are having social anxiety over FRFF. I had a really bad case three years ago. Jill had to keep consoling me. This year I’m doing pretty well. I know what to expect. The people that I really care about will be happy to see me and what do the others matter? I’m going to get plenty of hugs. Most of the people that count are reading this, I can’t wait to see all of you. For those of you who are worrying, don’t. You’ll have a great time. This is the best FRFF lineup.
