With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
January 28, 2004 - 4:00 p.m. It looks like school is never going to start. Today was snowed out. I wanted to start but on the bright side that means I get to see The Kennedys tonight. Good thing the LIRR is running a full schedule. Yesterday I went to the Knick game with Alan. The Knicks were playing the defending World Champion Spurs; guess who won? That’s right the Spurs. Alan just squeaked out a victory against me in our game. We are now tied 6-6. I got a package from Frances today. It is a tape of a Doctor Who special from England. I have to see if I can convert it to the American format tape at school. I got a letter from the ACLU today. They want money from me. I can't afford it. The thing is I don't know if I can afford to not give either. It is something I believe in so strongly. They started their pitch with a quote from Attorney General John Ashcroft. "…to those who scare peace-loving people with phantoms of lost liberty, my message is this: Your tactics only aid terrorists —for they erode our national unity an diminish our resolve. They give ammunition to America's enemies, and pause to America's friends." Do you find that as chilling as I do? If you'd like to support the ACLU you can go to their homepage and make a pledge.
