With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
April 19, 2003 - 1:11 p.m. Today was fun with Leah day. She was in town with her father. He was busy mixing his new CD. I met Leah at the recording studio and we were off to the races. Our first stop was Colony Records to buy sheet music for a musical who’s name I keep forgetting. It really isn’t easy not having a brain. Then after a bite to eat at Popeye’s we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. After not going there for years it was my second time in the last month or so. The first thing Leah wanted to see was the Egyptian section. She knows even more about ancient Egypt than I do. She could give tours of the exhibit. I loved it as always and it was even more fun seeing it with Leah. I haven’t been to the museum with someone since Lauren moved away in 1986. Leah was the perfect museum companion for me. She went through the galleries at the same speed I like to. We interspersed serious discussion of the exhibits with ridiculous jokes. We had lots of fun with one statue that looked just like Yul Brynner. We finished the Egyptian wing with a visit to the Temple of Dendor. Last time I was there it was closed for a private party. We discussed how cool it would be to have a wedding there. Next on the agenda was Musical Instruments. That was actually what spurred our trip to the museum when I mentioned that they have an instruments at the museum. Leah fell in love with a clarinet we saw then became disenchanted with it when she saw it was in the key of A. We went thought European Art looking for a painting that wasn’t there. It wasn’t a waste of time though. It’s always great to see the old masters. The painting Leah wanted to see was of Joan of Arc. It was in the 19th century art wing. Personally I preferred the Rodin statues in the same gallery. I love the passion of his work. By the time we were finished looking at the 19th century art it was time to leave. We took the bus cross town to the west side and ate at Jackson Hole, my favorite restaurant in the area. We got back to the recording studio at eight just when we her father said we should be back. The hitch was that he wasn’t done yet. I kept Leah company till about 10:30 then headed home. I was going to see Sex Mob but I was really too tired. I have to make up two tests this weekend and I think tomorrow daytime will be my only shot so I better get some sleep tonight. I love spending the day with Leah, I wish I could do it more often. I’m so happy that her father accepts me now. I understand why he was wary of course. I know I’m safe but a parent’s first instinct is to be cautious. FHDC is down now. It seems to be some problem with ownership of the domain name. It’s very annoying. FHDC is always my online home and I keep going there to see what’s up. It says it should be fixed in 72 hours. I hope it doesn’t take that long.
