With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
2002-05-17 - 3:06 p.m. Wow two updated in one day. Nothing exciting has happened since the last one but I forgot to mention some things. First of all Happy Birthday Leah I had the privilege to be the first one to talk to Leah after she reached my favorite age, 17. Seventeen is one of my two favorite numbers, the other is 42. I also liked 6 and 28; they are perfect numbers equal to the sum of their proper factors. I don't think I'll have any more fun birthdays. The next perfect number is 496. It's funny how one's image of a person gets frozen in time. Leah will always be 15 to me. She'll still be 15 at my 100th birthday party, which I already invited her to. She'll be 72 then. I was 10 to my sister Alison, the entire time she was in college. We usually don't keep up with name changes either. We call people we met as a kid Billy even when the world knows them as William. Doesn't this feel like I should be leading up to some important point? That somehow this relates to peace in the Mideast or the problems with relationships? It sure seems that way to me but I'm not seeing it. I just realized I'm missing the FRFF preview tour at the Outpost in the Burbs in Montclair today, which sucks. I love Zoë Lewis and Eric Schwartz sounded great on the CD I heard and Carey loves him. I'm going to the Bottom line tonight and I'll have lots of fun anyway seeing the Beat Goes On show. I'm going to Montclair tomorrow to see Deni Bonet. I found out about some good concerts coming up this summer last night. The Celtic series, which was at the WTC last year, is going to be at the Seaport this year. Lots of great bands will be there including Great Big Sea and Black 47. So far my summer schedule includes those bands, FRFF, Clearwater, Appel Farms. Richard Thompson, Slaid Cleaves with Rod Picott, and Carbon Leaf. I'm sure there will be more.
